Animation
Start your own path in the entertainment industry with an Animation Degree from The Los Angeles Film School. From realistic visual effects to stunning motion graphics, learn the technical skills needed to bring your digital art to life for film, TV, games and more.
Our program has two concentrations to choose from: Visual Effects & Game Art.
Learn how to create dynamic visual effects like you see in movies and television with our VFX focus or create 3D environments, props and characters and incorporate them into games and VR experiences with our Game Art track.
You’ll take classes in: Digital Painting, Character Rigging, Visual Effects, Model Creation, Digital Sculpting, Character Animation and more!
Online
Our Houdini-Certified online program has three concentrations to choose from including Environment and Character Design, Visual Effects and Character Animation.
Explore the entire production pipeline as you work through the computer animation process. You’ll learn studio lighting, digital painting (including fine details), surface appearance (dealing with materials such a cloth vs smooth surfaces), figure drawing and building proprietary characters.
You’ll take classes in: Animation and Rigging Fundamentals, Storyboarding and Storytelling, Compositing and Scene Finishing, Environment Design for Games, Characters for Film, Visual Effects for Film and more!
Student TechKit®
The Animation TechKit® that you’ll get as part of the program includes your own MSI Raider laptop with Houdini, Art Station Pro, Autodesk Maya, ProRigs and Nuke. You will also receive the entire Adobe Creative Suite, as well as a Huion Kamvas 13, Gaming Mouse and Wireless Headphones.*
